Not only this, but it is also teaching the basics of the mathematics base ten systems. Rarely is a lesson in a Montessori classroom taught for one purpose only, and usually, with time, the hands-on learning leads to multiple objectives.

These learners like to try things out and be directly involved in what they learn. They need the stimulation of being a physical part of their learning, trying new things and interacting through a hands-on approach.
